In 2010, we were delighted to be awarded the Gold Award for the Green Tourism Business Scheme, having achieved Silver in 2008 and Bronze in 2007.

The GTBS is the leading sustainable tourism certification scheme in the UK, with over 2200 members.

Businesses opting to join are assessed against a rigorous set of criteria, covering a range of areas, like energy and water efficiency, waste management, biodiversity and more.

By achieving the Gold Award, we have demonstrated that our business:

• Is seriously committed to sustainable tourism and minimising its damage to the environment, and
• Is operating in accordance with the relevant environmental regulations

That our site:

• Far exceeds minimum standards of good practice across a range of sustainable development indicators, and
• Has been audited by a qualified professional to ensure standards are maintained.

We have been reassesd every two to three years based upon a set of regularly updated sustainable development standards
