Cafes and Tea Rooms

Introduction

Man cannot live by breakfast, lunch and dinner alone…

Here are a few of our favourite spots for those ‘in-between’ times…

Longnor Craft Market

Perfectly placed at the end of a 40 minute stroll across the fields…

Bank Top Farm, Hartington
Just outside Hartington (so avoiding the crowds in the centre of the village), Jane Pilkington serves tea, sandwiches and cakes in their lovely gardens. It’s on the (very) minor road between Pilsbury and Hartington, about a 2½-hour walk or a wonderful 15 minute drive (if you don’t mind opening and closing a few gates on the way!).

The Old Smithy, Monyash

Opening times are generally 10am until 5pm during the week and 9am until 6pm at weekends in winter and 9am until 7pm everday throughout the summer. It’s about a 1½ hour walk for here…

The Old Coach House, Tissington

Beautifully restored building in picture-postcard village

Tisha’s Teas
Open Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10am – 5pm.
Conservatory in a private house ! Fabulous location about 7 miles away… Through Longnor towards Leek, turn left onto the Leek Road and then 1st right towards Gradbach/Allgreave. Tish is less than ½ a mile on the right…

If you’re in Buxton:

The Green Pavillion
On the main road in, just before you get to The Crescent. Great homemade dishes and salads for a light lunch as well

Project X Café Bar
In the Old Court House close to the Opera House; also doubles up as a wine bar if you’re in town in the evening
